The Bauhinia restaurant at the Shangri-La Paris palace is the enchanting theater of most delightful Tea Time in Paris. Orchestrated by the talented and inspired Pasty Chef François Perret, it features revisited classics and innovative creations renewed each season. For sure, pleasures of the eyes and for the fine palates.
Tea Time new creations
Luckily, we had the opportunity to experience the new menu. Among those little jewels, we especially enjoyed the pink grapefruit cheesecake made with cream cheese, the black currant in chocolate cage, the floating island of meringue over sponge biscuit with soft caramel filling and the famous millefeuille. And after that, if you are still hungry, which is pretty unlikely, you can try the marbled chocolate cake, the best we ever had, wonderful!
All those pastries have their own signature. The taste is really refined, sweet and happily surprising. They first look marvelous on the plate, and then when you start to eat them, you can feel all the textures and flavors which make it a refined experience.
To perfect this moment, we had a white tea with the pastries, very tasty!
The most gourmands would appreciate the Traditional Tea Time formula witch offers a selection of fine classic pasties, French biscuits, scones and finger sandwiches accompanied with a hot beverage or champagne. The Tea for Two selection is perfect for those who would prefer sharing this delicate moment.
Having a tea time at the Shangri-La Paris is a special experience. The historical background of the hotel together with the Asian touch are creating a felted atmosphere that enhances the overall experience. So palace!
The “Impressionist” ARTea Time
As an echo to the Paul Durand Ruel exhibition organized at the Luxembourg museum, François Perret has created a unique dessert based on a pot of paint. This delicious dessert includes milk chocolate, black chocolate, white chocolate and blackcurrant.
This ARTea Time formula is available every Wednesday from 15 of October 2014 to 4 of February 2015 at the Shangri-La Paris. Beside the pastry, every guest will receive a fast pass ticket to visit the exhibition.
The Enchanted Log Cake of the Shangri-La Paris
Then, for Christmas, François Perret, Shangri-La Paris pastry Chef, has imagined a very special Enchanted Log Cake. There will be only few hundred pieces of this very exclusive art work. For the lucky ones who will have the opportunity to enjoy it, be prepared for a very special delight.
Between originality and tradition, it has been set to remind the Christmas period with a unique design made of 5 Christmas trees. Each of those trees contains a very light chocolate mousse surrounded by a dark chocolate hull. The chocolate mousse is enhanced with orange marmalade.
The Christmas log cake of the Shangri-La Paris will be available between 5 and 25 December 2014. It is for 5 guests and will be suggested at a cost of 108 €.
The ARTea Time “Velazquez”
Echoing the Velazquez exhibition that will take place at the Paris Grand Palais between 25th March and 13rd July 2015, François Perret has created a unique pastry celebrating the Spanish painting master.
In a dark chocolate frame, we can find a light almonds mousse filled with candied fruits and enhanced with a touch of ginger.
This ARTea time, as the previous ones, is available every Wednesday at La Bauhinia.
We recommend the Shangri-La Paris tea time as one of our choices for a luxury tea time in Paris.
