The Mont Royal castle was first edified following the dream of Fernand Halphen at the beginning of the last century who aimed to build a wide property overlooking the forest his wife felt in love with. As a compositor and art lovers, he called into action the best craftsmen of the area. As time goes on, the Tiara Château Hôtel Mont Royal keeps jealously just for its hosts and visitors, the magic of its art and love story.
Arrival at the hotel
After a very nice stay in the fabulous Penthouse Suite of the Tiara Château Hotel Mont Royal in Chantilly, we had the opportunity to impregnate ourselves in the historic part of the castle in a Royal Room.
Our stay started on a Friday afternoon in August. We were so glad to rediscover this romantic like no other hotel.
The Royal room
Our Royal Room was located on the first floor with a nice view on the bar terrace and the forest. The Royal Room is quite large. It includes one bedroom with a large comfortable bed, a desk area and a sitting area. Then there is a dressing, separate toilets and a marble bathroom with a bathtub.
After our arrival, some sweets and a complimentary bottle of Champagne were made available for our pleasure, nice attention!
Aptly named Royal Room is decorated with warm harmony of beige and soft golden colors punctuated with elegant classy black furniture. The high ceiling and moldings enhance the feeling of la Vie de Château. Two large windows invite the evolving season tones of the forest around. So romantic!
For those who need to work, there is large desk available. A free WiFi access is available throughout the hotel. It works fine and is pretty easy to connect to (no need for an endless passcode or 3rd party S/W).
Attention of details was brought from the floor to ceiling in the entire room : rounded carpet, seats and bench covered with soft velvet, refined gold and black lamps highlighting the felted atmosphere.
The room offers a large comfortable 180 cm large bedding making you feel like a queen or a king in this French classical setting in harmony with comfort of today.
Catering
Dining at the Opera restaurant and enjoying the 7 courses tasting menu was a fantastic experience! The elegance of the restaurant, the refined and audacious cuisine blending with the smiling and discreet service gave to the moment a very special memory.
The breakfast buffet is suggested as a generous buffet. I would highlight the selection of teas, the cranberry juice, the bio cereals, the home made Viennese pastries and the warm salty and sweet dishes. It is served at the Opera which gave us by the way, an opportunity to rediscover the place with the morning light. On Sunday, guests can also enjoy a fabulous brunch there.
Activities
A lot of services are available at the Tiara Château Mont Royal. We really loved the swimming pool. The setting is so nice and unusual. The indoor swimming pool which includes a jacuzzi is surrounded with comfortable loungers. The black chandeliers and the drapes are really enhancing the area decoration and the luxury feeling. Just like no other!
There is also a fitness room and a squash room.
Outside, we have enjoyed a walk in the forest around the hotel. There is a well-maintained path to allow guests to walk through the woods. We have also played tennis on the quick court with only birds as witnesses. Last but not least, some bicycles are available if you want to practice around the hotel in the nice forest area.
The hotel isn’t far from the Château de Chantilly if you are looking for something to visit. The Parc Astérix (theme park based on the famous comic book) is also close if you stay with children.
Conclusion
Staying at the Tiara Château hotel Mont Royal is always a special experience. The first time, we came to discover a jewel in a green chest. Then, the second time, the magic still operates. You will love the place, it is so charming and refined. The staff is really friendly, always smiling and caring of what they can do to make your stay memorable.
The Tiara Chantilly is a great place for locals looking for a week end in a green setting outside of Paris but also for tourists visiting Paris and its area. It is only 20 minutes from the Roissy-Charles de Gaulle international airport.
