MGallery Molitor Paris Hotel

Pool, Art, Life are the three words that represent the impressive concept that the Molitor is. Located in the 16th area of Paris, between the Jean Bouin rugby stadium and the Serres d’Auteuil garden, not far from the Bois de Boulogne, the Parc des Princes and Roland Garros, the property stands like a 13,000 sqm (140,000 sqft) liner docked inside Paris.

Molitor is a place steeped in modern history. Inaugurated in 1929, this place was the most frequented swimming pool in Paris. It is there that the bikini made its first appearances inside Paris. Its two pools, its galas and receptions, its ahead of time atmosphere made during 60 years, a high place for Parisians events. After its closure in 1989, it was classified as Historical Monument and became a huge urban art theater where taggers painted their art work in every nook and cranny, as a painting with unlimited frame.

Today, in 2014, Molitor is reborn in a new way of life, for the greatest delight of Parisians and travelers looking for unusual experience. Place of exchange above all, this concept like no other is hectic rewriting its story day after day.

Beside both swimming pools, living space and wellness area, the property hosts an MGallery Collection hotel with luxurious services. Here as well, references to art, wellness and sports are ubiquitous. Everywhere, the eye focuses, from stained glass restored by the master glass artist Louis Barillet to the tags and the Art Déco details.

The first surprise for the traveler is the Rolls Royce entirely tagged by the artist JonOne. Following the codes that made the history of this place, this collectible object setting proudly in the middle of the lobby is the masterpiece. A ceiling mirrors game and lights are enlightening the effect, contrasting with the piece raw state.

In a design in harmony with the place, the 124 guest rooms have been set by Jean-Philippe Nuel as comfort bubbles overlooking the summer swimming pool with floor to ceiling openings. Soft and neutral tints that dress them reveal the blue and ochre brightness of the exteriors. Beds are arranged in order to offer the best view. All have modern bathrooms with Italian shower. As an echo to the Clarins Spa, products from the brand are being made available for the guests.

All have a view on the summer pool with large openings whose size is the same the former cabin doors.

Unusual in Paris, the Terrace Junior Suites offer large teak terraces complemented with vegetation where events can be organized. The Pool Suites overlooking the swimming pool from their porthole designed as the Molitor brand sign are set up with separate guest room and living room.

For lunch or dinner, several nice possibilities :

• The Restaurant along the summer pool, where contemporary art, design and art work from the Art Déco period, such as stained glass, moldings and ceiling fixtures, mingle harmoniously. The menu has been set by the Chef Yannick Alleno who obtained 3 stars at Le Meurice in Paris. He is now operating at the Cheval Blanc hotel in Courchevel.
• The Bar with as guest the outstanding summer swimming pool.
• The room service.

Set as a hanging garden, the exceptional panoramic terrace offers a 360° view over Paris. From there, you can see the Eiffel Tower, la Défense business area as a background to the Bois de Boulogne and the impressive architecture of the Jean Bouin rugby stadium. You can enjoy it while lolling at the solarium or the vegetable garden while sipping a cocktail or savoring a light meal prepared on the plancha for instance.

Clarins products in the bathrooms

High spot in Paris, Molitor has dedicated 1,700 sqm (18,300 sqft) for the brand new Clarins Spa. 14 luxurious cabins have been set for this. A fitness center with latest equipment is available. Beside their large size, 33 meters under glass roof for the winter pool and 50 meters for the summer pool, the water is heated at 28°C year round for the great pleasure of swimmers. Hotel guests will enjoy the same benefits as the members of the Molitor select club.
