Have you ever heard about an intimate paradise nestled at the heart of the iconic French Riviera? A place where you may just hear the sound of waves comfortably lying at the edge of the sea surrounded by Mediterranean gardens and the caring of a smiling and discreet staff?
If not, let us reveal our experience of the Tiara Miramar to you and start to dream about your next holidays…
Arrival at the hotel
The way leading to the Tiara Miramar Beach Hotel & Spa is the promise of a change of scenery. At a few miles from the vibrant city of Cannes, the hotel is hidden in the wonderful landscape of the Gold Cornice boarding the Mediterranean and lining the Massif of Esterel.
Arriving at our destination, a friendly valet took in charge the car and our luggage. The overall atmosphere of the hotel gives a luxurious and contemporary impression. To enhance this atmosphere, a delicate orange blossom perfume, evoking Morocco, is floating in the air. After a smooth check in, we were kindly escorted to our room.
The Junior Suite
This first impression is happily retrieved in the room. Our Junior Suite is ingeniously set with a long corridor deserving the bathroom, the living room with dressing, the bedroom, and last but not least, an outstanding view that catch the eyes from the entrance.
The suite offers a large terrace hosting a table and two deck chairs where you can relax while enjoying the view. The terrace overlooks the sea, the Mediterranean gardens and the red rocks : an unobstructed view like nowhere else on the whole French Riviera, outstanding!
The suite decoration is really refined, made of purple, red and wood tones. The hotel was fully renovated in 2014 so everything is brand new and fresh. We were amazed by the TV sets in the living room and the bed room, those show an incredible 3D image.
The bathroom includes a large walk-in shower and a sink made in the stone. The bathroom light brown colors create a relaxing sensation.
The bedding offers a generous two meters wide bed to perfect the whole accommodation.
I loved the overall tints harmony of the room echoing the nature and Moorish culture. Those colors elegantly highlight the blue azure of the outside view. Noble textures and furniture like dark woods, stones and velvet fabrics increase the luxury atmosphere while providing all the latest modern comfort. Biot glasses are the kind of detail that reveals the sense of caring brought to guests hospitality.
Catering
Multiple options are available for lunch and dinner at the Tiara Miramar. We tried all of these during our 3 nights stay there.
During the season, the breakfast is delivered at Le Moya restaurant, an outdoor restaurant (with a covered area) located at the beach level with a view over the sea. It is presented as a buffet breakfast that includes a lot of options from smoked salmon and scrambled eggs to fresh pastries, fruits and organic yoghurt. Several kind of fresh fruit juices are available. The apple one is highly recommended, really special! We enjoyed having a breakfast while looking at the sea. What a relaxing situation to start the day!
We also had lunch and dinner at Le Moya. The menu includes tartars, salads, vegetarian dishes, fishes and meats. Had the sea bass tartar, Provencal style. It was really fine and tasty. I liked it. Also had the Caesar salad with grilled prawns. It is also a nice combination if you like prawns. For the dessert, there is a selection of pastries and fruits salads. It is a nice idea as it allows tasting several ones. Each looks so tasty. We loved the orange blossom Tropezienne pie and the chocolate cake.
We also had a dinner at L’Or Bleu restaurant. This gastronomic restaurant is located at the Tiara Yaktsa.
The Tiara Yaktsa is the Tiara Miramar sister property, located 15 minutes walking distance from the hotel. It can be reached after a nice walk in a street surrounded by luxurious villas with a view over the Mediterranean sea. For guests who don’t want to walk, a little house car driven by the valet may bring them from the Miramar to the Yaktsa.
We had a nice dinner there. The view from the terrace is unique and the atmosphere is quite exclusive with only few tables thus making the dinner really romantic. What a pleasure to admire the coast illuminating while the evening falls.
Last but not least, the Bistrot M at the Tiara Miramar offers a sun bistronomique cuisine with generous plates. The restaurant overlooks the sea thanks to wide floor to ceiling windows. It is also in this place that breakfasts are delivered during winter. We began our dinner with the selection of starters that includes Pissaladiere, stuffed vegetables and foie gras. Then, we also tried the linguine with truffles. Delicious!
During all our stay, we really enjoyed the professionalism of the very friendly staff. You can feel that they enjoy their job. They made their best to ensure that we had a pleasant time and we were happy with our meals.
Activities
A lot of activities are available at the Tiara Miramar. First, one of my favorite, lying on a sun deck while enjoying the view and listening to the sound of the sea. The Tiara Miramar has a private beach with direct access to the sea and the sea temperature was still fine in September! There is also a heated outdoor infinite swimming pool with marvelous view over the sea and red mountains.
Then if you want, you can practice tennis on the outdoor tennis court. We took a lesson with the private teacher who gave us hard time, making us run a lot but also shared with us very good advises. This is ultimately what you need in this situation. Very efficient!
We’ve also experienced the Sothys spa, with a fitness center, a hammam and a sauna. We loved the nature mood of the spa decoration, really nice and relaxing. The hammam is large and really nice as well. We had a treatment there and it was perfect! Here, as the image of the Tiara Miramar hotel, you will enjoy state of the art infrastructures.
Conclusion
We were really seduced with our stay at the Tiara Miramar. The hotel appears like a haven of peace in the South of France. This intimate hotel, nestled near Cannes on the main leading to Saint Tropez, offers all you can expect from a luxurious 5 star property. The rooms and suites provide outstanding views over the sea and the Esterel. Then the staff will really customize the relationship to a point where you will feel really welcomed, as in a secondary residence. As we write those lines, we feel so nostalgic and think about everybody who made our stay memorable, saying in our inner-selves that it was just an “au revoir”. Yes, we found our little paradise here!
