If you are looking for a romantic dinner, a business lunch or just meet friends in a chic and felted place at the heart of Paris, Le Lumière is the perfect address. This particularly cozy restaurant is hosted by the Scribe managed by Sofitel Hotel. You will find it in the Scribe street, two steps from the Opera of Paris, between the Place Vendôme and the effervescence of the Haussman boulevard and its department stores.
You will enter the elegant pergola of this superb haussman style building to reach an exclusive atmosphere made of marbles, columns, crystal chandeliers and emerald velvet sofas. You will discover the restaurant as soon as you’ll arrive.
The restaurant’s name is derived from the Lumière brothers, Auguste and Louis, who presented here the first public projection of their new invention : the cinematography, the 28th of December 1895. The event still inhabits the premises thanks to the numerous period snapshots that adorn the room.
During the day, the light invites itself through a large atrium to unveil an intimate ambiance when the evening comes.
Soft colored moldings, alcove libraries, crystal chandeliers and white candles enhance the other star of the place : the cuisine of Sebastien Crison. This talent chef has become a master in the art of combining several styles, textures and audacious alliances together in the same plate. You will have all the leisure to enjoy the cuisine, comfortably sat in generous velvet armchairs. Even ladies bags will have their own padded stools.
For the amuse bouche, we’ve started our dinner with a cod topped by salmon eggs. As fresh as lovely!
The little breads that are served to the guests all the meal long are so good to be mentioned!
For our dinner, we choose to discover the Black Bio Chicken in two fashions, black truffle, blanquette way for thigh in maki with koshihikari rice, leek in pen for the Earth Scenario, and Roasted with salted butter Scallops, burgundy, roasted fingerling potatoes and spring onions for the Sea Story.
The two main courses were both delicious. The first one surprises with its inventive presentation, the flavors and the sophisticated texture mix : a delicacy that belongs to the French traditional gastronomy, enhanced here with a Japanese touch.
The second one was composed of perfectly cooked scallops : golden and fondant in mouth. I loved the burgundy refinement and was pleased to savor the two tastes in my plate!
As the epilogue of this gastronomic dinner, several options are suggested. For sure, the Pastry Chef Dessert Chariot will catch your eyes and grow your appetite as soon as you’ll enter the restaurant!
“Parisiennes” is the name of those pasties jewels presented there. The selection evolves with chef’s inspiration. Chocolate lovers will find happiness with high concentrated cacao dome.
Our curiosity led us to the Madagascar vanilla foam wrapped with fine crystal rose pastry and the perfumed with Japanese tea fine cheesecake. Both revealed as original as delicate tastes.
As you would have understood, in addition of a delicious gourmet cuisine, Le Lumière of the Scribe Hotel in Paris offers a conducive to confidence atmosphere. A place where each one takes time to relax and the wish to come back, again and again, like in a luxury other home. An address to keep preciously in mind!
