The Buddha-Bar Hotel Paris was opened on the 10th of June 2013 in the heart of the 8th area of Paris, only 20 meters from the rue du Faubourg Saint Honoré well known for its luxurious stores and only 5 minutes from the Champs Elysées avenue.
Between two shopping sessions, it is the perfect place to relax around a brunch, the Saturday as well as the Sunday between noon and 4 PM. The brunch was launched on 1st of March 2014.
While entering into the Buddha-Bar Hotel, you will directly fall into a warm and exotic atmosphere. A delicate scent smells in the corridors leading to the Vraymonde restaurant where the brunch is delivered. The lighting creates a soft and felted light. The neo-Asiatic felted decoration will allow you to feel in the heart of Asia within few seconds.
The restaurant room surrounds the nice courtyard where it should be lovely to lunch when the weather allows it, which wasn’t the case on the day of our visit but it isn’t an issue as the restaurant room offers an exotic and relaxing background.
The Buddha-Bar Hotel brunch is simple on the menu but when it comes to the plate, the flavors are much more complex. You start with a starter buffet, then you taste a main course of your choice and finally, you end up with a dessert buffet.
The starter buffet offers all the brunch classic : scrambled eggs, tomatoes with mozzarella, smoked salmon, Parma ham and cave-aged cheeses. You’ll enjoy the high quality of selected ingredients. The key innovation can be found on the salad side, a true delight.
There is a Thaï-style green papaya and mango salad and the famous Buddha-Bar salad. The Buddha-Bar sauce that goes with these is a pure gourmet’s delight. So I deliver here the secret behind this one, it is made with small peppers and rice vinegar. It perfectly marries with an Asian salad.
Then, for the main courses, you have the choice between a quinoa risotto with Provençal flavors, a BBH cheeseburger, catch of the day fish, chicken with caramel sauce and carrots sautéed with peppermint or bacon or salmon Eggs Benedict. We have tried the cheeseburger and the caramel chicken. The cheeseburger was really good. The meat was really tasty and properly baked. Then as a connoisseur, the home made fries could be compared to the reference, the Belgium ones. The course wasn’t fat and so digestible. The caramel chicken melts sweet and salty flavors that will please those who like this.
The desserts buffet includes verrines such as chocolate mousse, exotic tiramisus and panacottas, waffles, pancakes, skewer of fresh fruits, Viennese pastries and even Chupa Chups and Haribo sweets for kids. Verrines we have tried : chocolate mousse, red fruits cheesecake and white cheese with red fruits coulis. The chocolate mousse is awesome. It is light, slightly sweet, it is an essential one to try. The others verrines are quite correct with fine red fruit flavors.
Throughout the brunch, you can drink fresh fruit juices. The orange juice freshly squeezed is really good and hasn’t caused any stomach issue to me unlike others that can be found sometime. Some smoothies can be ordered but we haven’t tried those.
Lastly, you can take a hot drink. The tea comes from the Palais des Thés, a reference for connoisseurs that is confirmed once you taste it and the coffee cup have a generous volume.
The service is fast, courteous and efficient. The waiters are available and prompt. The buffet is regularly replenished. For those looking for a complete breakfast, everything is also available at the buffet.
You rediscover the musical atmosphere, true signature of all the Buddha-Bar, thus strengthening the feeling to relax and be abroad.
The brunch rate (drinks not included, with the exception of fruit juices and hot drinks) is 49 €. It is a very good price for a brunch with a starter buffet, a choice of main course and a dessert buffet, all of that within the heart of this chic area of Paris and inside a 5 star hotel.
So, if you are looking for a classic brunch with Asian touch in the plate as well as in the background, the Buddha-Bar Hotel is the place to be!
