Accor recently made the announcement that The Sentosa hotel in Singapore would go through a complete renovation to become the Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort & Spa in the second half of 2015. This strategic move is in line with growing demand for luxury hotels in Asia. Accor already has 40 Sofitel in the region with more to come.
In this deal, Accor will partner with Royal Group Development that purchased The Sentosa hotel. The property will benefit from a complete refurbishment to become one of the most spacious in Singapore. Its unique situation next to the beach while still being connected to the city makes it a special place. The hotel will include 215 rooms, suites and villas. The renovation will be handled by DP Architect / DP Green Landscape and MaxStudio.
The hotel will host a So Spa, luxury signature spa by Sofitel, with 15 treatment rooms, six outdoor spa pavilions and a spa garden.
The hotel is located in the south-east part of Sentosa Island, 25 minutes from Changi Airport. The Sofitel Singapore Sentosa target customers are the travelers looking for a relaxing place in a luxury resort.
The hotel is expected to remain open while the renovation is ongoing but will only receive the Sofitel branding once the renovation would have been completed. Tony Chilsholm has been appointed has the Cluster General Manager for both Sofitel properties in Singapore.
