Les Armures Hotel Geneva – Deluxe Room

Les Armures hotel is the only 5 star property within the old city of Geneva. The Leman lake is 5 minutes walking distance from there and we can even see it from some rooms. The decoration is contemporary while keeping the historic character of this classified building. This makes it a charming place, especially elegant.

The overall feeling while coming into the hotel is warm and felted. Once you get your keys, you can take the elevator where the guest book is displayed. We can see here some drawings made by celebrities that stayed there. For instance, we have the Clinton family, George Clooney, Jean Cocteau, Lucas or even Carter. It already gives an idea of the hotel exclusivity.

The Deluxe Room

Each room has its own decoration. The one allocated to us was harmoniously melting the contemporary style with the centuries-old footprint of the place : mirrors set in exposed stones, parquet floor, beamed ceilings, luxurious curtains… Materials used are high quality with the goal to maintain authenticity.

The room entry is completely covered with a mirror along one of the walls and on the other side, there is a modern and convenient curtain. Sliding doors are opening on the bathroom.

On the 3rd floor, we had a view on the fountain.

The mini bar is quite full, but on the other hand, there is no hot drink available.

The guest room has two twin beds consolidated as one for a total size of 180 cm. The bedding is comfortable. Nice touch : in addition to the regular rectangular pillow, a smaller one is added, this brings unexpected additional comfort.

The hotel offers to rent few DVDs, so a DVD player is available in the room.

In the bathroom, the ceiling is covered with wood. The overall style is old but the comfort is current : a large bathtub with shower, a bidet and few mirrors. The floor is covered with terracotta look reddish tiles. Multiple towels as well as branded bathrobe are available.

Guest room and bathroom are well heated. Even a bit too much, we had to open the window few times in January.

Catering

The breakfast is very nice. It is delivered as a buffet in a contemporary and warm room. The historic character is also there. The ceiling is covered beams, and we can appreciate the restoration work of medieval drawings.

The offer is diverse. We can find cheese, cold cut, exotic fruits, cereals, bread, Viennese pastries, hot and cold drinks. Everything is well arranged.

The staff is discrete but efficient.

We haven’t tested the hotel restaurant as we had others plans.

Conclusion

The Geneva hotel Les Armures is a charming hotel, for its atmosphere and its location in the old city. Main city attractions can be reached by walking : Leman lake banks, luxury stores, Parc des Eaux Vives or old buildings in the nearby area such as the Maison Tavel. The place offers change of scenery and quietness. Rare cars are crossing the street. Mostly tourists are going around.
