The history of the hotel de Vendôme started during the 17th century when was built, under the Roi Soleil direction and following the maps of Jules Hardouin Mansart, the famous square as well as a number of private mansions. The hotel de Vendôme built, which was originally the hotel de Bataille Francès, was completed in 1723. It was set for Pierre Perrin, King assistant, following a map from Armand Claude Mollet, Palais de l’Elysée architect. The hotel was then owned by several families, including the Vendôme family that gave her name to the building and embassy of the young Texas Republic. It is during the 19th century that the building was transformed in a hotel for travelers. The King Edouard VII was a regular of the place.
