Arrival at the hotel
Staying at the iconic Majestic Barrière Hotel is like taking part of the Legend. Proudly standing on the famous Boulevard de la Croisette in Cannes, the property is used to welcome World leaders and International Cinema Stars.
On the Croisette, close to the Palais des Festivals, the hotel distinguishes itself with its immaculate white 1920’s Art Deco facade, all enhanced with red details. While entering the hotel the second shock comes from the beauty of the lobby. All dressed with gold tones and marbles, it gives a prestigious impression. At this time, you feel really privileged to walk in the footsteps of famous actresses and actors that made the legend of Cannes festival.
We were warmly welcomed by the staff who then escorted us to our Junior Suite. While taking the nice elevator made of black lacquered and white wood, we were really excited to discover our room and all the refinement that can be found in every corner of this hotel.
The Junior Suite
We entered the Junior Suite at the 6th level of the hotel. It is a 45 sqm (484 sqft) room that provides a corridor deserving a very large bathroom, a wide room with a king bed, a dressing, a sitting area and a working area. And last but not least, the suite offers a large terrace with an outstanding view over the sea, the Lerins island and the Croisette. It is large enough to host two deck chairs, a table and four seats. Unique!
The walls of the suite are dressed with beige striped fabric which gives a very cozy effect. Ceilings are framed by Art Deco moldings. The entire suite reveals a refined decoration with red, black and gold details.
This timeless elegance blends with today technologies. For example, curtains are controlled from the bed. It is the kind of detail that you appreciate to be softly waked up with the Riviera sky in the morning.
During our stay, we had the pleasure to be welcomed with a generous plate with waters, Alain Milliat fruit juice, fresh fruits, chocolates and macaroons. But where do the macaroons come from? They are incredibly delicious!
The bathroom is a real star dream. Like a three marble jewel box, its dimensions are wide. It provides two sinks, a hidden bidet, a bathtub and a large shower. Luxury is the first word that comes in mind. Generosity is second when you discover the profusion of amenities : even a real size perfume from the Fouquet’s collection. What a chic souvenir to display on your home bathroom! Amazing!
Catering
Breakfasts are served in the Fouquet’s restaurant, inside or on the terrace next to the pool. It is presented as an impressive buffet. Here you will enjoy fresh Viennese pastries such as croissants or brioches, instant prepared French pancakes, eggs prepared at your convenience, several sorts of breads and cereals, a selection of salty delights such as mozzarella, salads, warm cooks products or smoked salmon, cheeses, fresh fruits in salad or complete… The list is long…
And, something you would hardly find anywhere else, is the possibility to enjoy your breakfast with Champagne, and it comes from the prestigious Pommery house! So Palace!
I really enjoyed those times in the marvelous decoration of the Fouquet’s. It is such an elegant way to start the day.
Upon our arrival, we enjoyed a nice lunch at the Fouquet’s bar, outdoor. It was the opportunity to appreciate quality products from the South comfortably seating on the pool side. As you can see on the picture, the size of the mozzarella is good enough to feed any hungry customer. Same for the club sandwich. And they were really tasty!
The second day, we’ve decided to have our meal at La Plage. The restaurant serves fresh products from the sea. My sea bass carpaccio was especially delightful.
All decorated in white and gray tones, the restaurant offers a relaxing and chic atmosphere. It is nice to have a restaurant where you can have a lunch without leaving the beach side.
To enjoy a private dinner, we decided to order a room service. The table was dressed outside with a pretty white table cloth to enjoy a romantic dinner while admiring the view and the night falling on the Croisette. The room service menu offers a lot of possibilities where each one could find its pleasure.
We dined twice at the Fouquet’s restaurant. Elegance is the master word to describe both the menu revisited by starred Chef Pierre Gagnaire, the place and the caring of the staff : as we dined outside, a shawl was kindly loaned to me without asking anything. Nice attention!
After dinner, guests may have a drink at the Fouquet’s bar or at the Louise Pommery Rotunda.
Activities
Just experience the Dolce Vita of the French Riviera… Lovely! The swimming pool located next to the Fouquet’s brasserie is heated. Its iconic Art Deco mosaic decoration is gorgeous. And you can easily find a sun deck to relax after few laps in the pool.
The private beach of the Majestic Barrière is quite exclusive. Guests have the possibility to lay on a mattress deck chair on the sand, the pontoon or on a daybed. The daybed is the must. When you’ve chosen the place, some friendly beach attendants will install you with white beach towels.
When you are comfortably installed, you will soon forget the crowd of the Croisette, feeling so quiet just hearing the sound of the waves at your feet.
For those who want to relax even more, the famous Clarins French cosmetic brand have settled one of its prestigious spas at the Majestic Barrière with My Blend by Clarins signature.
The spa is light and modern with a clear focus to optimize well-being. It provides all the top of the art infrastructures such as sensory shower, modern fitness machines, hammam, sauna and solarium. A surprising relaxing area is displayed to enjoy teas and dry fruits.
